One thing people may not know about me is I love the challenge of updating spaces by incorporating old with new. I don’t have an interior design background, but my friends have frequently asked me to go with them on shopping trips to help them purchase items to freshen up their homes. I love DIY projects and truly enjoy the creative process of visualizing something in my head and seeing it come to life, so when my daughter asked me to give her room a makeover, I was pretty thrilled!
Last month, we took on a big home project and replaced all the downstairs flooring with wood tile.
After Mario and I built our home, one of the first things I wanted in our house was a sliding barn door. There was never an immediate need or an ideal place in the house for us to install one, so the barn door was not a priority. So when the hub offered the idea of putting up a barn door for my office, you can bet I jumped on that right away!
The holidays are my favorite time of year and I always look forward to winding down our busy schedule, taking extra time off work, and spending time at home with my family. This year, I decided the fireplace needed a new look for Christmas and went with a more simple look.
This past weekend, I found myself in the nesting mood as I was getting ready for a procedure this week. I was kid-free for a day and cleaned almost every inch of our house, knowing I would be out of commission for a few days.
